Gingham Ribbon

A gingham ribbon can be a smart choice for your home décor or wedding decoration, it depends where you want to use it. Gingham ribbons are also known as checkered ribbons as they have a pattern on the fabric in two different colors that make checks together in different shapes. These ribbons are around us for around thousand years and have been serving different purposes; for wedding decoration, home decoration, nurse clothing, baby bedding and room decoration, and for seasonal expressions. The would gingham is derived from the Malay word Gingang that means strips in between ( the fabric has stripes or lines in a pattern); later the fabric was brought to England from where it was introduced to USA. At that time period, the gingham fabric had only two colours that used to form stripes but later the design was turned into checks. The two common color combination used in Gingham ribbon were blue and white; people used to make the use of ribbons for different occasional decorations.

Today, gingham ribbons are available in a variety of colors; pink, yellow, blue, green, red, orange, lilac, and black. To boost the outlook of any site and make a great accent, the ribbon is used in several ways. Sometimes these ribbons are also associated with country and western themes. For example orange and lilac gingham ribbon represents the summer; those love to have a feel for summer even in the wintry season they use lilac ribbon with white color in their gardens, on curtains, and on tablet as a table top to make their feelings intense about the summer. This trend is very common in those areas where winter rules all of 12 months and people yearns for summer and delights themselves by using colored ribbon. A good way to comfy the desire for a hot summer season!!

The country theme is designed by plaid or grosgrain colored ribbon to express a feeling like love for the country. The same way, pink gingham ribbon is used in the nursery theme to adorn the tiny room for the new born baby. The pink color is used in combination with other accessories like pink bed sheet, pink cupboard, pink soft bedding, and pink curtain in the room. The checkered ribbon is used to tie the curtain, in the bibs, on chairs, and tables to impart a sense of peace and love altogether.
